SCOUT or FREEDOM AWARD PROJECTS
If you are interested in adding something to Merriwood or doing something to improve the facility, program, grounds at Merriwood, we’d love for you to reach out to see how you could do your project at Merriwood. Merriwood will work alongside you to come up with a project you are excited and motivated to do that is within the financial realm for your goals, that will also benefit Merriwood. We’ll even put a sign with your name and troop group beside your project when it’s completed!
Since 2009, 19 scouts have completed their projects here at Merriwood. The value they have added has benefited campers, staff, and improved our facility and grounds. We are so grateful!
Here are some of the projects completed over the years: amphitheater and seating, gravel pathway and steps to arched bridge, canoe rack and launch, 9 square in the air installation, 9-hole disc golf course, benches and light stands in picnic area, gaga pit, sound booth in chapel area, boardwalk at lake, belay shelter and benches at climbing wall, bridge over creek, relocated sling shot range, added platform stage at amphitheater, added an axe throwing range, added stadium seating at the riflery range/axe throwing range/archery range/soccer arena. See a full listing of Merriwood projects completed by Eagle Scouts at Merriwood!

I loved working alongside MCC with my Eagle Scout Project because of the easy communication.
It was so painless to figure out logistics, as well as planning everything. Terry helped provide ideas for my project and helped very much.
My project can benefit campers from years to come with my long-lasting benches and lampposts that will provide some light.
My other fellow scouts have done their Eagle projects here, and I think the trend will continue for years to come.
